10 Ways to Be Happy

**Think positively
Get rid of negative thoughts. By thinking positively and changing your thoughts you will change your outlook on the world.

**Get active
Exercise stimulates various brain chemicals that leave you feeling happier and more relaxed.

**Drink more water and green tea
Your body is about 60% water, so drinking water six to eight glasses of water each day can improve your focus and boost your energy levels. Green tea is good for your heart and brain, and it contains an amino acid that provides a calming effect.

**Be grateful
When you appreciate what you have, what you have will appreciate in value.

**Love yourself
Give up self-defeating self-talk. Focus on what you love about yourself; find what makes you unique and share it with the world.

**Smile at a stranger
Smiling at someone is an easy and simple way to brighten someone else’s day as well as yours.

**Listen to music
The emotions people experience while listening to music can cause an increase in blood flow in their blood vessels which causes them to feel happier.

**Worry less
Create a ten to twenty minute “worry period.” Make it the same time every day, but early enough to not make you restless right before bed. During this period write down your worries in a journal to ease the intensity of your feelings, and allow you to live the rest of the day worry-free.

**Avoid social comparison
It is impossible for you to influence people if you are trying to be just like everyone else.

**Laugh as much as possible
Some studies have shown that laughing may raise the level of antibodies that fight infection in the body and help boost the levels of immune cells.
